Notes
I was born Herman Erwin Schempp on April 5 1935 in Philadelphia PA. I
Lived at 306 W. Fern St. in Phila Pa. I attended Lowell Elem. School in
Phila. Pa. and Olney high school.I quit high school at age 16. I worked at
many different jobs until age 19. I was drafted into the army (Jan. 11
1955). I served in the army during the Korean war. I was stationed in
Chinon, France. After serving my time, I realized my mistake of not
finishing high school. I re-entered a private school at age 22 and earned
my high school diploma. With this diploma I entered Temple University
in September of 1959. I graduated in February 1963 with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Physical Education. I taught as a substitute teacher in
Philadelphia, Penna. I was offered a teaching position in 1963 in the
Douglass School system at the Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. I
taught at the school for two years. I was offered a teaching position in
the Boulder Valley Schools, in Boulder, Colorado while I was finishing
work on my Masters Degree in Physical Education at the Univ.of Colo.in
Boulder. After 25 years of teaching in the Boulder Valley Public School
system I retired in 1990 at age 55. In June of 1989 I bought the Boulder
Sausage Company and worked on making sausage to suppliment my
retirement income. The company grew so unexpectably well that I was
able to retire again in September of 1991. As of this writing, June
1992, I continue to own the company and only occasionly work at the
plant.
MY daily life consists of the following interests:
1) My family
2) Church activities (I am a member of Atonement Lutheran church .
Boulder, CO.
3) Keeping in touch with my investments.
Rental Property, Land Development, Boulder Sausage CO.
4)Gardening, Geneology
5) Fishing, Hunting, Skiing, Golf, Boy Scouts
6) Working around the house (it never ends)
7)Keeping active (running, taking german classes and other
courses, meeting with friends, etc.)
Well, I probably forgot a few things but hopefully it will give you a
better idea of who I was.
GOD BE WITH YOU
Love,
Herman
